The topic of rising airfare trends was one of the focal points of discussions among airport leaders during the Board Meeting of the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), hosted by Cambodia Airports, in Phnom Penh.
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s largest independent air cargo handler – has received both the Transport and Logistics - Gold Award in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC).
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today announced the air traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for January 2023. During the month, passenger throughput at HKIA registered around 2.1 million, marking a year-on-year surge of around 28 times. HKIA handled over 80,000 passengers daily at peak, representing around 40% of pre-pandemic levels. Flight movements saw a year-on-year increase of 34.9% to 16,215, while cargo throughput dropped 26.4% to 288,000 tonnes compared to the same month last year.
Kansai Airports and Hannan City will work together to create a rich marine environment through collaboration between the local communities and the airport as “the Osaka Bay Sea Forest (Seaweed Beds) Conservation and Restoration Project”. Kansai airports is pleased to announce that this initiative was registered to the “TEAM EXPO 2025” Program Co-Creation Challenge of the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Narita International Airport Corporation has been honored with the Award for Contribution to Taiwan Tourism again in 2022 after receiving the award in 2021. The award is presented by the Tourism Bureau, a government agency under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan, to companies, organizations and individuals in Taiwan and abroad that have made a significant contribution to promoting tourism in Taiwan.
Sharjah Airport Authority witnessed significant growth and achievements in the year 2022, highlighting its commitment to providing elevated levels of customer services and meeting passenger expectations. The Cirium 2022 On-Time Performance Review is the global gold standard for airline and airport performance.
As operator of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), Airport International Group has recently renewed four ISO certifications aimed at improving the efficiency of its management systems per rigorous international standards, thereby enhancing value to passengers and other relevant stakeholders.
In acknowledgment of its focus on continuous improvement in customer experience and services, Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has recently become the first airport in the Middle East to achieve Level 3 of the Airport Customer Experience Accreditation (ACEA) issued by Airports Council International World (ACI World), valid until December 2023. To this end, QAIA also became one of eight airports in the Middle East and 61 globally to have received an ACEA.
Adding another feather to its cap, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is proud to announce that it has achieved the Highest-Level 4+ “Transition” of Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program of Airport Council International (ACI).
