This week, the global community of airport innovators, start-ups, visionary thinkers, researchers and top tech minds gathers at Rome Fiumicino Airport for AIRPORTS INNOVATE 2024. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released the air traffic statistics for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for May 2024. During the month, HKIA handled 4.07 million passengers and 29,855 flight movements, marking year-on-year increases of 30.8% and 34.5%, respectively.
The National Security Guard (NSG) successfully conducted a real time and exhaustive anti-hijack drill at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) as part of its strategic efforts to enhance security and emergency response protocol. Commencing at 8 PM and concluding in the midnight on Monday, June 24th, the exercise exemplified the NSG’s dedication to utilising state-of-the-art technologies such as real-time communication systems, advanced surveillance equipment, and sophisticated anti-terrorism measures.

With this, Delhi Airport become the first airport in India and the second in the world after Toronto, Canada to implement this cutting-edge technology.
Kansai Airports Kobe is excited to announce that a “Summer Vacation Early Morning Family Runway Walk” will take place at Kobe Airport on July 20 to provide an opportunity to have visitors come close to airports and aircraft. Elementary and junior high school students are invited to walk on the runway, which is usually off limits to the public, and view parked aircraft and chemical fire trucks during morning hours before the start of airport operation.
Auckland Airport yesterday hosted 80 female high school students across three of its major development sites, for Infrastructure New Zealand’s ‘Girls in Infrastructure®’ program. The event highlights the significant contributions of women in the infrastructure sector and aims to inspire the next generation of female leaders in this field.
The maintenance program is managed by a dedicated Bahraini team, which includes qualified engineers from the Airside and Landside Maintenance team who manage the entire operation. The planning for Airside Ground Lighting infrastructure is executed by a 20-member team of Airfield Ground Lighting technicians, working in four shifts.
In line with growth and expansion plans, Sharjah Airport and Air Arabia announced the launch of the first direct flights from Sharjah to Republic of Poland, enhancing travel options for customers. The new route will initially operate with 3 weekly flights between Sharjah and Kraków, gradually increasing the number of flights in the future.
Sharjah Airport welcomed passengers during the days of Eid Al Adha in joyful and welcoming atmospheres, offering them a different travel experience and unforgettable moments during this occasion.
