ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Shares Expertise in ACI Airport Excellence Programme (APEX) in Environment at Bahrain International Airport

  • 2023-12-13

The Airports Council International's Airport Excellence Programme (APEX) review on environment was successfully conducted at Bahrain International Airport (BAH) from 3-7 December 2023.

Together with the environmental sustainability experts from Istanbul Airport, Queen Alia Airport, Zurich Airport and ACI conducted the review at Bahrain Airport to assess and manage the environmental impacts associated with the airport. The goal is to share industry best practices with the airport and ensure that the airport complies with relevant environmental regulations and standards. APEX in Environment can help airports identify their status, blind spots, and gaps. APEX provides recommendations to build on existing programmes and infrastructure to assist airports in achieving a higher environmental maturity level.

The programme can be customised to the size and structure of the airport. The review is conducted on-site by a team of industry experts that focuses on the best practices in key environmental areas.

If you would like to host an APEX in environment review at your airport or would like to be a voluntary environmental sustainability assessor, please contact Mr. Ken Lau, Senior Manager Environment and Airport IT, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East.
