Airport Staff Members Applauded for Service Excellence

  • 25 May 2018

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) held the “At Your Service” Service Appreciation Campaign Award Presentation today in recognition of staff who have provided a pleasant airport experience for passengers. More than 118,000 votes were collected from passengers, while over 2,000 staff members from 50 companies across the airport community participated in the campaign.

Speaking at the ceremony, Fred Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA), said, “HKIA is one of the busiest airports in the world. It has also been named the world’s best airport over 70 times. To maintain such a high level of service under increasingly busy operations requires the concerted effort of each of our 73,000 airport staff. Their warm and professional service helps keep HKIA running smoothly and greatly enhances passengers’ airport experience. I would like to express my gratitude to all members of the airport community for helping us maintain such high standards of customer service and satisfaction.”

The one-month campaign was divided into six categories, namely “Airlines and Passengers Handling”, “Retail Shops”, “Food & Beverage and Entertainment”, “Government and Related Bodies”, “Transport / Travel / Hotels” and “Passengers Service”. Passengers were invited to vote for staff who provided outstanding service.

This year, the “Most Helpful Company” awards were given to 18 companies, while the “Most Helpful Staff” awards were presented to 90 staff members from a broad range of organisations.

The Service Appreciation Campaign was launched in 2013 to promote a culture of service excellence in the airport community and to honour staff members for their outstanding customer service.
