ITAMI Airport’s 80th Anniversary Celebration in Appreciation of all Supporters

  • 10 Jan 2019

Born in 1939 under the name “Osaka No. 2 Airport”, Osaka International Airport (ITAMI) will become 80 years old on January 17, 2019. Thanks to the unwavering and generous support over many years extended by all airport users, local communities and stakeholders, the airport has carved out a long history and reached this important milestone.

Instead of resting on the achievement, we pursue our ambition to grow further. The re-opening of the terminal central area in April 2018 gave a first glimpse of our aspirations for the future. Our continuing work to renovate and transform the airport will culminate in the grand re-opening in 2020.

Together with Kansai International Airport and Kobe Airport under the integrated three-airport operation which started last April, ITAMI will continue to endeavor to create exciting and seamless airport experiences, while putting safety and security first for all airport guests.
