Airports in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East regions are setting new benchmarks in passenger experience. 35 airports out of a total 95 airports globally were recognised in the prestigious 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards by Airports Council International (ACI). Collectively, airports in the region won 68 awards, across categories.
This week, the global community of airport innovators, start-ups, visionary thinkers, researchers and top tech minds gathers at Rome Fiumicino Airport for AIRPORTS INNOVATE 2024. The conference, organised jointly by ACI EUROPE, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World, and hosted by Aeroporti di Roma, will chart the future of air travel, pooling innovative solutions, groundbreaking tools and know-how from across the globe.
Guests enjoyed mixing an assortment of colorful ingredients—juicy fruits, crunchy nuts, and fragrant spices—all soaked in rich spirits. The event was further enriched with a gingerbread house-making workshop, bringing together guests of all ages in a joyful, interactive celebration.
The main objective of this event was to promote the Southeast Asian and Northeast Asian routes of Macau International Airport (MIA), encouraging more residents from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to choose Macau as a transit point when travelling to those regions. The event has invited representatives from 21 units, including airlines and travel agencies currently operating in Macau, to collectively participate in the promotion.

The event, which took place on 17th November, was co-presented by title sponsors Airport Authority Hong Kong and Standard Chartered Hong Kong, and organized by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates.

ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) was honoured to participate at the 2024 security committee of The International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations (IFALPA) from the 14-16 November in Fukuoka, Japan. Marking a significant milestone, this was the first time ACI APAC & MID had been invited to attend IFALPA’s annual security committee, which is held annually for commercial airline pilots to discuss aviation security-related matters.
