The topic of rising airfare trends was one of the focal points of discussions among airport leaders during the Board Meeting of the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), hosted by Cambodia Airports, in Phnom Penh.
Developed by the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Aviation Security Committee (RASC), this guidance document provides practical examples that can make airport security operations more sustainable from environmental, social, and economic perspectives.

The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has renewed the aerodrome license of Mangaluru International Airport. The renewed license effective from September 16, 2023, will be valid for a period of 5-years, that is up to September 15, 2028. The validity of the current aerodrome license issued on March 16, 2022, ended on September 15, 2023. The airport received the renewed license on September 12.
Continuing its endeavor of giving utmost priority to security, Mangaluru International Airport on September 1 handed over additional equipment to the airport security group (ASG) of CISF.
Mangaluru International Airport took a further step in enhancing security by procuring and handing over a bomb suit to the airport security group (ASG) of CISF. This is in line with a commitment given by the airport operator to this central armed police force, tasked with providing security to this vital national installation, to provide them with state-of-the-art security equipment. This also meets a requirement flagged by the civil aviation security regulator.
Passengers departing from Mangaluru International Airport had a truly special opportunity to witness the functioning of the airport canine squad of airport security group of CISF on August 3. This came as the result of the ongoing aviation culture security week that is being observed across the airports in India courtesy an initiative taken by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). The theme of the week-long event is – See it, Say It, Secure It.
ACI Asia-Pacific has been playing an active role in representing and promoting airports’ interests through ICAO in the area of aviation security. The 11th ICAO Asia & Pacific Regional Aviation Security Coordination Forum (RASCF-APAC/11) was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 26-27 July, 2023. As an annual regional security forum, hosted by ICAO, the event was attended by over 70 aviation security experts from state regulators and industry associations from across Asia-Pacific region.
Mangaluru International Airport reaffirmed its commitment to aviation security with the Aviation Security Culture Week celebration that got underway on July 31.
