Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), an association representing 624 airports, delivered two important presentations at the ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Middle East region in Riyadh, highlighting the critical need for enhancing air connectivity and seamlessly integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the current air transportation framework.
With the economic recovery, higher consumer spends, aviation- friendly government policies along with infrastructure development the Indian aviation industry has started to show a considerable recovery across domestic and international travel sectors.
The international passenger traffic is making further recovery, similarly to last month, especially with foreign passengers (58% from March 2019), exceeding 1 million in a single month for the first time in three years and one month since February 2020. The total passenger traffic for the three airports reached 99% recovery from March 2019, a highest ratio since COVID-19 pandemic started (March 2020). The international cargo aircraft movements and volume were both slightly below the levels of last year.

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released the traffic figures for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for March 2023. During the month, HKIA handled 2.8 million passengers, more than 28 times the amount recorded in March 2022, and 372,000 tonnes of cargo, which represented year-on-year growth of 5.8%. Flight movements in March more than doubled year on year to 20,130.
