Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), an association representing 624 airports, delivered two important presentations at the ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Middle East region in Riyadh, highlighting the critical need for enhancing air connectivity and seamlessly integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the current air transportation framework.
Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and the China Civil Airports Association (CCAA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation and promote excellence in airport operations and management. The MoU will enhance the synergy between ACI Asia-Pacific and CCAA to promote regular exchanges of information and economic data, assessment of airport service quality, customer service best practices and capacity building initiatives through establishing communication mechanisms.
SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will commence on 28 April the trial of speedy ferry services serving Pazhou in Guangzhou, connecting the restricted area of HKIA to the downtown of Guangzhou. The new ferry services offer international business parties, members of the exhibition and convention sectors and Guangzhou residents a hassle-free journey to and from Guangzhou and destinations worldwide via HKIA.
GMR Goa International Airport Ltd (GGIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd today announced that its newly inaugurated Manohar International Airport, in North Goa has clinched two prestigious awards at 14th CIDC VISHWAKRMA AWARDS-2023. These are - Achievement Award for Best Construction Project 2023 and Achievement Award for Construction Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) 2023.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) organized an event to support the Maldives Autism Association as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Today’s event was held as per the ongoing activities of the World Autism Awareness Month which includes an airport tour and a fundraising program.
With the economic recovery, higher consumer spends, aviation- friendly government policies along with infrastructure development the Indian aviation industry has started to show a considerable recovery across domestic and international travel sectors.
The international passenger traffic is making further recovery, similarly to last month, especially with foreign passengers (58% from March 2019), exceeding 1 million in a single month for the first time in three years and one month since February 2020. The total passenger traffic for the three airports reached 99% recovery from March 2019, a highest ratio since COVID-19 pandemic started (March 2020). The international cargo aircraft movements and volume were both slightly below the levels of last year.
Kansai Airports today announced a forecast of international passenger traffic, Japanese and nonJapanese combined, at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the coming Golden Week (forecast for 10 days from April 28, 2023, to May 7, 2023).
Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that seaweeds taken from Kansai International Airport were transplanted to Hannan City as part of the Osaka Bay Sea Forest (Seaweed Bed) Conservation and Restoration Project, which had been registered to the “TEAM EXPO 2025” Program Co-Creation Challenge of Osaka-Kansai Expo.
